Oldsmobile Came Rollin' On the River

From its beginning, General Motors created a sort of pecking order to their brands with the idea that there would be a car for every budget. Oldsmobile was founded in 1897 by Ransom E. Olds. The company became the largest selling car company in the United States but, due to internal conflicts, Olds left his namesake company in 1904 and started REO (of Speedwagon fame). Oldsmobile was bought up by GM in 1908 where it was the mid-range line above Chevrolet and Pontiac but beneath Buick and Cadillac. Sadly, as part of GM's massive cuts, Oldsmobile was dissolved in 2004, leaving behind a string of amazing cars. Quite a few of these Olds classics were on hand for the 34th Rollin' On the River Charity Car Show this past summer. Among them was a Cutlass convertible, an 88, a 1970 442, and a few Cutlass models from the early 1970s.
