2011 Cruise 4 Kids

It seems to me that automobile aficionados are a unique sort of folk. They are often as willing to park their cars for people to walk around and admire as they are of firing them up and driving on the open road. Car people always seem willing to talk about their car, their passion, and to share that passion with others.
That is why it is no surprise that a group of car enthusiasts in San Diego are going to be taking part in an event this weekend that will not only bring 125 of the most beautiful pieces of machinery in Southern California together but will benefit a very worthy cause as well, the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Dieguito.
I heard about this event when a friend of mine mentioned it in an on-line chat the other day. I immediately asked him for information so that I could post something about it. What he did was put me in touch with Nino Venturella, a San Diego business man who, like so many who make an event like this happen, has donated his time, energy and expertise.
“Cruise 4 Kids is a unique, private event inviting high-end luxury car owners to participate in a 40 mile cruise with over 100 sports and exotic cars,” said Nino. He added that there are spots still available.
The rally is going to start at the historical Hotel Del Coronado and will end at the Jet Source hanger at McClellan-Palomar Airport in nearby Carlsbad. Part of the cruise will cross the famed Coronado Bridge which will be closed for the event to help accommodate videotaping of the cars. The cruise is going to shot in HD with cameras mounted on cars and even a helicopter getting aerial views of the event.
Nino pointed out that part of the footage is being produced into a video by Gravity FX. “This is being produced to go on YouTube for all to see. All participates will be emailed a link so they can show off in their social networks and circle creating a fan base for next year’s event,” said Nino.
This is not a race, but a high-end cruise limited to only 100 drivers on an invite only basis,” Nino said, adding that the event includes a number of perks. There will be breakfast at the Hotel Del Coronado and lunch at Tommy V’s Italian Chop House. In addition there will be vendors, a silent auction, a raffle, views of private luxury jets and much more.
The tax deductible entry fee comes with a number of other benefits as well, including pictures opportunities San Diego Charger cheerleaders, the event’s Rally Girls and, of course, some high tech flying machines. Participants can also get discounted rooms at the Hotel Del Coronado.
According to Nino there the private event is limited to 100 sports and exotic cars. These will join 25 cars being provided by sponsors to complete the roster for the cruise. Not all of the slots have been filled.
To register for the event or for more information you can check out the Cruise 4 Kids page on Facebook or contact Nino Venturella at 760-716-5848 or by email at nino.a.venturella@wellsfargo.com.
This is surely a chance to be part of an amazing event. But isn’t that just like a group of car enthusiasts?
