Wrapping Up the 1200 Car Club Car Show

The 1200 Car Club Car Show was a new event for me. Held in a parking lot and drawing in about 50 cars and trucks, this show benefited the Scottish Rite, of which my dad was a member when he was alive. For a fairly small open show it did manage to bring in not only some old and new standard entrants but also some of the rare and unique. One such car was this Mercedes Benz 500K. This grand touring car was built between 1934 and 1939 and sported a 5.0 L supercharged engine. That is what the K designates as a supercharger in Germany is called a Kompressor. Also in the lot for this show was a new Ford Mustang, a 1997 BMW Z3, a low rider Chevy Caprice Classic convertible, a third generation Mustang which is commonly known as the Fox Body Mustang, and a new Camaro.
