The Sweet Life In Alt Park

La Dolce Vita, the Sweet Life. That was the main theme at the 46th Cincinnati Concours d'Elegance which was once again held in beautiful Alt Park. The theme was looking at the artistry of Italian design and how it has influenced automobiles over the years. In all the concours had six classes dedicated to Italian design, one for cars made between 1975 and 2010. Among the members of this class was a 1977 Maserati Bora, a 1977 Ferrari 308 GT4 2+2 Bertone, a 1975 Ferrari 365, GT4, a 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO, a 1998 Lamborghini Diablo SV, a 1990 Ferrari Testarosa, a 1999 Ferrari Maranello, a 2007 Ferrari 599 GTB, a 2008 Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640 coupe, and a 2009 Ferrari 430 Scuderia.

La Dolce Vita As the 46th Cincinnati Concours d'Elegance

La Dolce Vita, the sweet life, made famous by the 1960 Federico Fellini film of the same name but used to express the culture and beauty that has come from the Italian automobile industry over the years. Celebrating Italian style was the main emphasis of the 46th Cincinnati Concours d'Elegance held on an equally beautiful day in Alt Park. The celebration was broken down into five different classes and today we will show the gems from 1967 through 1974. Among them was a brilliant 1974 Iso Rivolta Lele Sport, a 1972 Lamborghini Espada, a 1969 Alfa Romeo GTV 1750, a 1970 Fiat Dino Spider 2400 that traveled all the way from Wyoming to take part, a 1972 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000, a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 N.A.R.T. spider which was one of only 10 built, a 1967 Ghia 450 SS Spyder which of the 52 built is one of only six still known to exist, a 1972 Alfa Romeo Montreal, and a 1962 Alfa Romeo Guilia Sprint.

Italian Design Was Celebrated At the 46th Cincinnati Concourse d'Elegance

The automobile industry has long seen Italy as being in the forefront of design. So many brilliant and beautiful vehicles emerged from the country that it seemed natural for the 46th Cincinnati Concours d'Ellegance to celebrate these rollings works of art with not one but six different classes. Among the Italian vehicles built through 1966 was a 1955 Siata 300B which was one of only 50 to be built. Also on display was a barn find 1955 Siata 300BC, a 1960 Alfa Romeo 2000 Touring, a 1954 Ferrari 375 America which is one of only 12 ever made and one of only six bodied by Pinin Farina, a 1965 Lamborghini 350 GT, a 1959 Ferrari 250 GT PF coupe which was converted into a 250 Spider, a 1928 Issotta-Fraschini Tipo 80 SS 8A boattail convertible coupe which was named Best in Show at the concourse, a 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB 6C, a 1957 Fiat 1200 Spider, a 1961 Maserati Vignal Spyder, and a rare 1962 Autobianchi Bianchina Cabriolet "Eden Roc" belonging to the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville, TN.

Muscle Cars Roared Into Alt Park As Part of the Cincinnati Concours


 From the early 1960s into the early 1970s America became fascinated by power. Car makers discovered that buyers wanted bigger, more powerful engines. And they liked them to roar loudly and go fast. This was the era of the muscle car and there were plenty on display in the American Performance class at the 46th Cincinnati Concours d'Elegance. Here is that American muscle that rolled into Alt Park for the event: a 1970 Oldsmobile 442 convertible, a 1966 Pontiac GTO, a 1970 Buick GS Stage 1, a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28, a 1967 Chevy Camaro RS/SS, a 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 fastback, a 1971 Plymouth 'Cuda, a 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS 396, and a 1969 Chevy Nova.

Some Cars Are Destined To Be Classics

Some cars are special. Even when they're new it's easy to see that they are destined to become classics. That's the case with the cars in the Future Classics class at the 46th Cincinnati Concours d'Elegance. Among this group on the grass at beautiful Alt Park was a 2021 McLaren 765 LT, a 2023 Porsche 911 Dakar, a 2017 Acura NSX, a 2010 Dodge Viper ACR, a 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, a 1992 Porsche Singer Targa, a 2015 Bentley Continental GT3-R, a 2018 Ford GT, and a 2019 Aston Martin DB 11 AMR Signature Halo Edition.

Contemporary Sports Car At the Cincinnati Concours

Sports cars made between 1960 and 1984 qualified to be part of the Sports Contemporary class at the 46th Cincinnati Concours d'Elegance, the fourth oldest concours event in the United States and the oldest no on the west coast. Among the cars in this class on the field at beautiful Alt Park was a 1965 Lotus Elan S2, a 1966 Morgan 4/4 Series V Competition, a 1960 Mercedes Benz 190 SL, a 1980 Porsche 911 SC Targa, a 1973 Porsche 914, a 1979 Mercedes Benz 450 SL, a 1960 Chevrolet Corvette convertible, a 1964 Chevy Corvette convertible, a 1967 Mercedes Benz 250 SL, a 1968 Chevy Corvette Sting Ray, and a 1970 Opal GT.
