Some Magnificient American Collector Cars Were On Display At the Cincinnati Concours d'Elegance

From the end of the Second World War until the middle of the 1970s there were a multitude of brilliant cars being made in America. This was, perhaps, a golden era in design and innovation with not only the Big Three, Chrysler, Ford and General Motors, making interesting automobiles, but also the smaller independents that managed to survive the Great Depression and the war as well. The 46th Cincinnati Concours d'Elegance has a class for these cars that is called the Collector American class and it was full of amazing vehicles. Among them was a 1950 Chrysler New Yorker, a 1958 DeSoto Adventurer convertible, a 1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne 1/2 ton pick up truck, something rarely seen at a concours event, a 1958 Edsel Citation convertible, a 1969 Buick Electra 225 convertible, a 1952 Hudson Hornet Club Coupe, a 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk, a 1965 Plymouth Barracuda which was actually the very first "pony car" released to the public, a 1956 Packard Caribbean, a 1952 Oldsmobile Super 88 convertible, and a 1973 Buick Century special edition Indianapolis 500 pace car.
