The 46th Cincinnati Concours d'Elegance is the fourth oldest concours event in the United States and the longest running such event not on the West Coast. This year's even was blessed with absolutely beautiful sunny skies as opposed to last year that saw rain hinder all aspects. This year's special category was La Dolce Vita: Celebrating Italian Style. This was a look at all things Italian and brought in a hoard of classic cars from all over Italy. Along with the more than 20 traditional classes there was also a special display class celebrating 60 years of the Ford Mustang and another taking a look at Auburn, Cord and Duesenberg automobiles. A highlight of the latter was this amazing 1935 Duesenberg Model SJ nicknamed Mormon Meteor. This is a one off vehicle created to break land speed records. It sported a 1570 cubic inch V-12 Curtis airplane engine. One of its many speed records was achieving a 24 hour average of 157 miles per hour. This masterpiece was named Best of Show at the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours in 2007. For the next few weeks I'll be posting the cars and trucks (yes, there were a couple trucks in the field) from this concours.
