Elizabethtown Is Well Worth A Visit

It isn't just the historic downtown or the nearby national park that makes Elizabethtown, KY worth stopping in to see. There is also the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame (of which my cousin is an enshrined member). But for the purposes of this blog the real reason to pull off of I-65 south of Louisville is to visit the fabulous Swope's Cars of Yesteryear Museum. Auto deal Bill Swope opened his classic and vintage car collection to the public in 1999 and decided that there would be no admission charge. Yes, the museum, filled with amazing vehicles, is free for all to enjoy. Some of the cars you'll see there include a 1932 Pontiac Sport Roadster, a 1919 Ford Model T, a 1910 Brush Roadster, a 1929 Ford Model A, a 1914 Ford Model T Runabout, a 1921 Dodge Touring car that legend has it was built specifically for the Maharaja of Bradesh, and a 1924 Chrysler 70 B Touring car.
