The People's Car Went Headin' For the Hill

After taking a couple of years off because of the global Covid pandemic, the Headin' For the Hill show returned this past Labor Day with a bang, drawing in 150 vehicles and raising money for the various youth charities of North College Hill. Among the cars on hand were a nice handful from Volkswagen. The "People's Car" as it was dubbed (it's what Volkswagen translates to), VW was founded in 1937 to make a car that all Germans could afford. Following World War II it became a vastly popular car world wide. At Headin' For the Hill most VWs on hand were the familiar Type 1 known as the Beetle but there was also the utility Type 2 version which could be configured in a number of different styles, this one in van form.
