The Sycamore Township Car Show Celebrated Its 15th Year

Sycamore Township has now been hosting their annual car show for 15 years. Earlier this month under one of our rare tolerable days this summer, the show attracted about 150 cars and trucks to the Robert L. Schuler Sports Center along with many more viewers. Among the rides on hand was a 1997 BMW Z3, a Plymouth Road Runner, an Australian Holden Commodore UTE, A Studebaker Commander, a 1957 Chevy Bel Air, a 1965 Cadillac DeVille, and a Ford Mustang.

Corvettes Rolled Into Sycamore Township

The 15th Annual Sycamore Township Car Show saw a large contingent of Chevrolet Corvettes among the 150 or so vehicles that filled the lot at the Robert L. Schuler Sports Complex. Here are a few of the Vettes that were on hand on that beautiful early August day.

Chevrolet In Sycamore Township

Following the end of World War II, Chevrolet quickly became the largest selling automobiles in the US, finally surpassing Ford. Their offerings touched price points and their designs enchanted buyers and brought about large sales numbers. It wasn't until the Japanese made huge in-roads late in the 20th and early in the 21st century that Chevy fell from the very top of the sales ladder. That means that a lot of Chevrolet products were purchased during the 1950s through the 1980s, prime car show models. That's a major reason why there were so many "bow tie" cars and trucks at the 15th Annual Sycamore Township Car Show. Among them was a Camao Z28, a Nova, a Corvette, a Monte Carlo, a 1969 Chevelle, a Biscayne, and a 1969 Camaro.

15th Annual Sycamore Township Car Show

For the 15th time the Robert F. Schuler Sports Complex lot was filled with classic and collectable cars. This year, on a beautiful early August day, about 150 vehicles rolled in to be part of the event. Among them was a Buick Regal, a custom the owner calls a 1989 Dodge Raider, a Plymouth Prowler, a first generation Ford Mustang convertible, a Dodge Dart, a Packard, and a 1961 Chrysler New Yorker.

Wrapping Up the Back the Heroes Rumble

Today I'm wrapping up my coverage of the 7th Annual Back the Heroes Rumble. The event, held to raise money to purchase needed equipment for the area's first responders, brought over 100 vehicles to the campus of West Clermont Schools on a hot, humid day that threatened to rain. As always, feel free to let me know how you felt about this show by either leaving a comment (no ads, please, I just have to delete them) or by dropping me an email at turnerbudds@yahoo.com. For this last post we have a Fox body Ford Mustang Cobra convertible, a hard top Fox body Mustang, a newer 'Stang, a Ford Custom Line, a 1957 Ford Fairlane, a Jaguar XJS, and a custom 1946 Plymouth Deluxe.

Sports Cars Came To Rumble

The 7th Annual Back the Heroes Rumble saw a nice selection of American sports cars among the more than 100 vehicles that showed up on a hot, humid day to the campus of West Clermont Schools. The event was designed to raise money for needed equipment for the area's first responders and the turnout showed the community's backing of the effort. There was a strong contingent of Ford Mustangs, like the one seen below, a limited edition 2008 Bullet model, as well as a number of Chevrolet Corvettes from various generations. But one car stood out among the sports cars and it wasn't a sports car itself. A 1972 Ford Pinto Runabout was a true survivor.

Speedsters Were Among the Vehicles At the 7th Back the Heroes Rumble

When an event brings in over 100 vehicles there is a good chance that there will be a nice variety among old and new. Well, for the 7th Back the Heroes Rumble held on the campus of West Clermont Schools there were a few new cars built for speed. There were also some older collector rides as well. On display on that hot, humid day was a Subaru SVX, a third generation Japanese import Toyota Soarer, a Toyota SXE, a Ford Mustang, a custom 1941 Dodge pick up, a Chevy S10 eXtreme pick up, and a Chevrolet Nova.
