Any time there is a decent sized open car show the odds are that plenty of Chevrolet Corvettes will be on hand. Chevy introduced the Vette in 1953 when General Motors saw all of the foreign sports cars people were riding around in. Many soldiers returned from Europe and Japan after World War II and brought with them a fondness for the small sports cars they saw while serving their country. GM saw this potential market and introduced a small two seater with the Blue Flame six cylinder engine. The first generation, or C1, had some problems, particularly with power, and so in 1954 Chevy upped the ante with a 265 cubic inch V8. Now in its 8th generation (C8), the Vette is a mainstay of American motoring. There were a few Vettes that came out in support of the Lakeside Park Crestview Hills Police Charity Car Show. Here are a few starting with the rare 1963 C2 with the famed split rear window.
