American Muscle

One of my personal favorite categories at any Concours is the American Performance cars, better known as muscle cars. At the Ault Park Concours d'Elegance they choose those road monsters turned out between 1961 and 1971. What makes this even so much fun is that, while you are sure to see some things you expect, there are always a few different cars you do not normally see. For example, take this Acadian Beaumont Sport Deluxe, often called the Canadian GTO.

Also sitting on the park's grounds that day was a 1969 Dodge Charger 500 with the Hemi engine, a 1966 Chevy Chevelle SS396 that was one of the first Chevy muscle cars with the big block 396 V 8, a 1971 Ford Torino GT, a 1966 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible, a 1969 Chevy Camaro Z28, a 1969 Dodge Daytona which was the first car to break the 200 mph barrier, a 1968 American Motors AMX, a 1971 Pontiac GTO 455 H.O. Ram Air Coupe that was one of only 105 ever built to this spec, and a 1969 Chevy Corvette Convertible.
