Early American Design

Since automobiles are essentially rolling works of art, it is little surprise that the featured theme of this year's Ault Park Concours  d'Elegance was The Art of the Automobile: Great American Design. For the next three days I'll post images that the Concours selection committee thought best represented the theme. One of the earliest cars they chose was a 1912 American Underslung Model 22 Roadster built in Indianapolis.

Another Indianapolis car on display was this 1924 Marmon Model 34B Speedster. Also being shown was a 1925 Kissel Gold Bug Speedster, a 1911 Marmon Model 32 Speedster, a 1940 Lincoln Zephyr Continental Cabriolet, a 1937 Cord 812 Supercharged Phaeton, a 1939 Packard Super 8 Darrin Convertible Victoria, a 1931 Stutz Rollston Bodied Victoria, a 1934 Packard 12 LaBaron Boattail Speedster, and a 1947 Packard Super Clipper Cub Sedan.
