Dodge and Plymouth Made Strong Showings At the Pumpkin Run

Though the Dodge brothers had been working in the burgeoning automotive industry since 1900 it wasn't until 1913 when they established their namesake company. When one of the brothers died in 1920 the company was acquired by Chrysler and became the mainstay mid-level car in the firm's lineup. Plymouth was launched in 1928 as the low priced entry level line for Chrysler. Both lines saw success, especially during the muscle car era. Due to continued sagging sales and economics Plymouth was shut down in 2001. Still the legacy of these two lines lives on as was evident at the 46th Annual Pumpkin Run Nationals. Among the many fine Dodge and Plymouth vehicles on the lot was a Dodge Dart, a Plymouth coupe, a Dodge van, a Plymouth Satellite station wagon, a Charger R/T, a first generation Barracuda, and more.
