Oldsmobiles Were In Lawrenceburg

For 137 years Oldsmobile was a mainstay on the American automotive scene. Fitting nicely between Pontiac and Buick in General Motors' plan to have a car for every budget, Olds was originally founded in 1897 by Ransom E. Olds. In 1901 it produced 635 cars which made it the largest producing gasoline car maker. In 1904 Olds had left the company due to disputes with other top management and in November, 1908 the firm was bought by GM. In 2004 Oldsmobile became the victim of GM's cost cutting and the brand was shuttered. Still, there are a lot of enthusiasts of the line and many brought their gems to the 8th Annual Cruisin' To A Cure For ALS show in Lawrenceburg.  Among them was a Hurst/Olds 455, a couple of Cutlass models, a 1955 Super 88, a couple of 442 models, a 1966 Cutlass F-85, a 1955 Holiday, and a 1952 Series 88.
