Pontiacs Fought ALS

For 98 years Pontiac was a major portion of the General Motors Corporation. It sat just above Chevrolet but below Oldsmobile. Founded in 1926 as an upscale member of the Oakland line, by 1933 it had overtaken its partner line and found itself as its own brand. Seen as a solid family car, that all changed in the 1960s when division head John DeLorean helped usher in the muscle car era. The line was shuttered in 2010 as part of GMs cost cutting measures. Still, Pontiac continues to have a very strong group of supporters. That's why there were so many at the 8th Annual Cruisin' To A Cure For ALS show in Lawrenceburg. Among them was a GTO along with a stuffed goat, a LeMans, an earlier GTO, a Bonneville, a Firebird, a LeMans convertible, and a GTO convertible.
