Coming out of World War II it took the automobile factories some time to re-tool for civilian production following years of building military supplies to help win the war. The first cars in the mid to late 1940s that were released were essentially pre-war vehicles with only slight cosmetic alterations. That all changed by the 1950s and Chevrolet proved to have a highly appealing line. They quickly became the biggest selling car line in America and there are many fans of those vehicles today. In fact, a large contingent of those cars were on hand for the Headin' For the Hills show. Among them was a cool 1955 Bel Air station wagon. But there were plenty of other styles as well. Here are just some of the ones that were on display.
