The Studebaker National Museum (http://www.studebakermuseum.org/) is open 360 days each year offering visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the history of this famous auto manufacturer. Admission is just $8 for adults, $6.50 for seniors, $5 for students over six with younger children getting in for free.
In addition to all of the cars and displays, the museum also has a store where you can find anything Studebaker. The store is also available through the museum's web site in case you can't make it to South Bend but just have to have a Bulletnose t-shirt or a Red Ball shot glass or perhaps a DVD about the Avanti.
Still, the main attraction to the museum is of course, the cars. The car collection includes the 1963 Lark Sedan seen at the top of the blog, a 1961 Champ Truck, a striking 1961 Hawk, a 1963 Avanti, a 1963 Avanti which once topped the 200 mph mark, a 1947 M5 Half Ton Pick Up, a 1947 Champion Deluxe Station Wagon, a 1949 Champion Regal Deluxe, a one-of-a-kind Notchback Sedan Prototype, and a Fastback Sedan Prototype, both from about 1962.
