Partaking In the Pumpkin Run Were Plenty Of Pontiacs

In 1926 the first Pontiac was introduced as a junior brand for General Motor's Oakland division. Pontiac quickly began to outsell Oakland and by 1931 GM pulled Oakland in favor of the junior division. Pontiac fit in GM's line just above Chevrolet and below Oldsmobile. Among the more than 2600 automobiles at this year's 48th Pumpkin Run Nationals, all from 1974 or before, there were plenty of Pontiacs on hand. Among them was a 1962 Catalina, a GTO, a 1968 Firebird, a 1963 Bonneville, a 1956 Star Chief, a 1956 Chieftan convertible, and a 1966 LeMans.
