Chevy Rode Into Ferbank Park For Rollin' On the River

When General Motors ousted its founder, William C. Durant, he teamed up with two brothers, Louis and Arthur Chevrolet in 1911 to create the Chevrolet Motor Car Company. Durant helped steer the company to success and used it to acquire a controlling interest in GM. Since then Chevy has been the sales leader of the GM family. While Ford dominated automobile sales prior to World War II, after the war Chevy took off and for just about every year, outsold its cross-town rival. That is the main reason why there are so many Chevys that attend open car shows such as the 33rd Annual Rollin' On the River Car Show sponsored by the Delhi Kiwanis and held on the banks of the Ohio River in Fernbank Park. Among the Chevy autos on display for this show was a 1948 Fleetline, an Impala, a 1959 Impala, a 1961 Bel Air station wagon, a 1970 El Camino, a Metro, and an Impala convertible.
