More Impressive Vehicles At the 1200 Car Club Car Show

An open car show held by a car club usually brings out a lot of the typical vehicles, the usual suspects. But drawing in about 50 rides the 1200 Car Club Car Show held in Cold Springs in support of the Scottish Rite had a surprisingly strong variety. For example, it isn't every day you get to see a perfectly kept Volkswagen Type 2. The Type 2 went into production in November, 1949. It was made to be usable in a lot of commercial and consumer purposes. The van type truck has had nearly as many names depending on the location around the world. Called the Transporter, Kombi, Microbus, Bus, Camper, Bulli, and, famously in the hippie days, the Shag Wagon. Also at this show was a 1971 Dodge Challenger Indy Pace Car Edition, an all original 1932 Oldsmobile that has been a one family car, another '71 Challenger, a Chevy Impala Custom, a Vette, a Ford Mustang, and a 1938 Pontiac sedan.
