Steve Weber's International Restoration Journey Part 2

We started following Steve Weber's journey to restore his 1957 International S100 pick-up truck when we met him at the ACE car show. This being his first try at a restoration job he admits that he's suffering some growing pains. But still, he's enjoying the journey.
He recently sent some more pictures to show the process. He wrote in his email, "Work is hard and a little slow. So I decided to leave the dents and a little pitting, beacuse it gives it patina, and go ahead and paint the truck. Due to the coming rain and lack of paint I will be taking a few days brake from the truck. I tried to paint some blue on the truck but didn't turn out right beacuse this is my first paint job and it takes a little practice. But I will get it next time."
So here is another look at Steve's quest to restore this unique pick-up.

Hope everyone is enjoying watching Steve's project come together as much as we are. Leave your thoughts for Steve to read and let us know if you have a current project that you're working on. Drop us an email at turnerbudds@yahoo.com.

Now it is working. SO here is the comment I wrote.

Soon Mark soon. I have been working on the motor I had the head redone beacuse of oil gunk in the motor. turns out I have a blown head gasket and the head needed to be shaved. and I am also replaceing all the gaskets in the motor and cleaning all the old oil out of the motor. But I am also doing body work too I had some bad comments about leaving the dents and pitting so I got some bondo and sand paper and got to work. so soon I will get some sand and blast the bed and fenders and primer the bed and paint the fenders and clear coat the cab and hood and fenders.

  8. Yeah, Steve, Google can be a pain in the butt sometimes. I look forward to an update when you have one because you're generating a lot of comments and interest. It tells me that people like seeing the process and that your choice of an International was a good one. Take care.

  12. Hi Jake, glad to hear that you're getting into restoring an International. Most people don't get into the truck scene but those Internationals were incredible work horse vehicles. Look ahead in the blog some and you'll see other posts about Steve's project, including where he ultimately had to give it up and sell it because of a financial situation that turned up. Steve's a great guy and he's attacked another project since then. Thanks for reading.
