Rat Rods are great. At least in my opinion. People will pull parts of any kind of car they can find and put together an all new creature. The true rat rod never really looks finished. It isn't painted and often seems to be missing some pieces. This is part of their beauty. Indeed, they seem to be emulating the original hot rods where people would take an old, no longer in use, car and totally chop it to pieces.
But what happens when someone takes a VW Beetle and wants to turn it into a rat rod? Is it a rat rod any more or does the creature change to a Bug Rod?
