Only 12 cars actually showed up leaving the parking lot to look all but empty. Fewer still were the number of people who stopped by the the cars, the food and the music.
This was a shame not only because the show was designed to raise money for a good cause but it left the cars that did show up mostly unseen. And there were some fine cars, indeed. Ranging from a couple of great newer Corvettes (a 1972 Stingray will be featured in a later blog) and a Porsche 944 to an Opal GT and a Nash Metropolitan.
Our friend, Charles Barngrover, who owns the Metropolitan (see this blog entry to read about this great little car: http://turnerbudds-carblog.blogspot.com/2012/07/an-unlikely-indy-car_26.html) told us that he has been coming here for the past four years. "I know they don't usually have a huge turnout but it's for a good cause and so I always support them," he explained. It's just too bad more people didn't do the same.
