Antiques at Keeneland

The Keeneland Concours d'Elegance has become one of the fastest growing such event in its 12 year history. It now regularly boasts a slate of amazingly beautiful and unique cars. This year's event once again proved this point. In the Antique Through 1924 class, there were surely some show stoppers including this 1918 Cadillac Type 57 Five Passenger Phaeton. This car is powered by a 314.5 cubic inch L-Head V 8 that could run it at, for the time, the amazing speed of 70mph.

Also part of this class was this 1915 Ford Model T Runabout which cost all of $390 when new and sported all of 20 horse power, a beautiful 1922 Haynes 75 Tourister which has a unique system called a volatilizer which ensures that fule down't enter the cylinders as a liquid, a stunning 1908 Simplex Sppdcar which sported a double chain drive as well as a 40 gallon gas tank and a 13 gallon oil tank, a 1921 Dodge Model 30 which was the first year that the car was available with a heater, an amazing 1913 Cole 50 HP Speedster which is believed to be one of three such cars raced at Indianapolis in both 1913 and 1914, and a fantastic 1921 Marmon 34B Speedster whose 340 cubic inch aluminum six cylinder engine generated all of 34 horse power.
