Future Classics at Keeneland

Regular followers of this blog know that I'm not too fond of seeing modern cars at shows. I often refer to them as parking lot cars because you can easily see them at the local Kroger or Target. But the Future Classics class at this year's Keeneland Concours d'Elegance may have been stocked with newer cars but very few would you see in a parking lot. Included in this group was this 2015 Porsche GT3 which is the latest version of the just barely street legal track oriented GT3 series. This model posted a time of 7:20 on the famed Nurburgring circuit.
Also part of this class is the slightly younger 2011 Porsche 977 GT3 RS which has been clocked from 0-60 in 3.8 seconds, a 2015 McLaren 650S which boasts a 641 horse power 3.8L twin turbo V8 power plant, a 2014 BMW i8 hybrid which is one of only about 330 imported to the USA, a 2013 Fiat/Chrysler Group SRT Viper which has a 640 horse power engine generating 600 foot pounds of torque, a 2008 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is another beautiful Modena example styled by Pininfarina, a 2005 Acura NSX-T which is generally considered to be the best Japanese supercar of all time, a 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat which runs on a supercharged 6.2L 707 horse power V8, and a 2008Aston Martin DBS with its 6L V12 which can rocket the car from 0-60 in a hair over four seconds.
