A Good Turnout To Support A Scholarship Fund

The 17th Annual Cruise-In For Our Youth held to support the West Clermont High School scholarship fund saw in excess of 80 fine collector vehicles show up at the Amelia Masonic Lodge. A break in the rain that had plagued several past weekends helped as well as owners wanted to let their cars and trucks stretch their legs. Among the cars on display was a second generation 1965 Pontiac Tempest. The Tempest was introduced in 1960 as Pontiac's first entry-level compact car. The Tempest may not be well remembered but one of its early trims was the LeMans and it also brought us the GTO. Other cars on display included a 1963 Chevy Bel Air, a Cheyenne pick up truck,  a 1966 Ford Fairlane, a 1961 Corvette, a restomod 1947 Ford pick up, a 1957 Bel Air, and a 1969 Oldsmobile Hurst.
