Corvettes Were Honored At the Cincinnati Concours

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 45th Annual Cincinnati Concours d'Elegance, held in Ault Park to benefit Juvenile Arthritis, had a special display of the iconic sports car. Among them was this 1957 Vette that was one of four built to race at the 12 Hours of Sebring. Driven by Dick Thompson and Gaston Andry this car won its class in 1957 and finished 12th overall. It has a 283 cubic inch V8 engine that puts out 283 horse power.

This 1982 Collectors Edition was one of only 6759 of these cars made. It was also the first Corvette to break the $20.000 price barrier. It has a 350 cubic inch fuel injected V8 engine.

This 1998 model is one of 1163 replica pace cars that were built that year. Gunning out 300 horse power, the car has a 5.7 liter dual overhead cam V8 engine. The paint scheme and the interior, which is yellow, make this car special.

This 1994 Vette sports an extremely rare color. Only 116 cars got this Copper Metallic paint. It's said that GM used over 800 gallons to paint those 116 cars. Beneath the paint is a 5.7 L DOHC V8 engine.

The second generation C2 Corvette saw its swan song in 1967. This particular  '67 convertible has won numerous awards including a prestigious NCRS Top Flight award. The car has a 427 cubic inch V8 engine that generates 435 horse power.

Dubbed Stars and Stripes, this 1972 Corvette was built and raced by John Greenwood through much of that decade, including running in the 24 Hours of Le Mans where it hit 215 miles per hour. It has a 427 cubic inch ZL1 L88 aluminum V8 engine that generates 750 horse power.
