There Were Some Surprises At the Cruise-In For Our Youth

There are few things more satisfying for an old car enthusiast than to go to an open show and find some surprises. There were a few of those at the 17th Annual Cruise-In For Our Youth show held to raise money for the West Clermont High School scholarship fund. One of the surprises on the lawn of the Amelia Masonic Lodge was a 1969 Opel Kadett. While the German manufacturer originally made what is now referred to as the Kadett I from 1936 until 1940, the version seen here appeared on the market from 1962 until 1991. The 1969 model was the second generation or what is called the Kadett B. Other surprises included a 1950 Mercury coupe, a GMC light duty pick-up truck, a pair of 1957 Chevy Bel Airs, a 1941 Mercury two door sedan, an Impala, and a Shelby Cobra replica kit car.
