Cars and Trucks Rumbled In the Park

Despite some cool and rainy weather, about 45 cars and trucks showed up to the 7th Annual Rumble In the Park. The event is held to help raise funds to support the Bethel area's first responders. Among those that braved the weather was a rarely seen Ford Pinto, a Ford Mustang, a Chevy Custom 10 pick up truck, a Chevrolet Cheyenne 20 pick up truck, another Ford Mustang, and a slightly custom Pontiac Trans Am.

Trucks and Sedans Came To Rumble In the Park

Of the 45 or so vehicles that braved the cool temperatures and the periodic rain and drizzles to support Bethel first responders at the 7th Annual Rumble In the Park there was a nice selection of pick up trucks and, in this post, they join a couple of nice sedans. There is were a few Chevrolet pick ups including a Cheyenne, along with a Dodge Dart Swinger, and a full size Chevy Impala.

Bad Weather Stunts the Rumble In the Park

On a day that saw cooler than average temperatures and on and off showers and sprinkling, the 7th Annual Rumble In the Park saw a below average turnout of only about 45 cars and trucks. This was unfortunate because the proceeds of this event all go to support the area first responders. Still, some nice vehicles did show up including a 1964 Ford Fairlane, a third generation Chevrolet Corvette, a custom Ford coupe, a restomod Chevy coupe, a 1939 Chevy coupe, and a first generation or C1 Chevy Vette.

A Show Helping Bethel First Responders

The Seventh Annual Rumble In the Park was held on a cool day where rain peppered on and off, dissuading a lot of car owners from showing up to help support the Bethel area's first responders. Despite the weather about 45 cars showed including a C3 Chevrolet Corvette, a new Dodge Challenger R/T, a C2 Chevy Vette, a Chevy Chevelle, an extreme hot rod that, believe it or not, began life as a Ford Model T, and an actual surviving Ford Pinto.

Rumble In the Park

The 7th Annual Rumble In the Park  in Bethel with proceeds going to aid the area's first responders was held on a cool day with on and off drizzling rain. The weather kept the number of cars in attendance to about 45. Among the cars on display were a couple of not quite stock Chevrolet Bel Airs, a 1969 Ford Mustang, a new Dodge Challenger, a Chevy Corvette, an actual surviving 1984 Chevette, and a Jeep Cherokee.

The Last From the Hill For Now

In order to not fall too much further behind in posting shows today is the last day for the Headin' For the Hill show, at least for now. I'll come back to this event hosted by North College Hill and used to raise money for various local youth charities after the car show season ends. In the mean time here are some more rides from this show, including a Cadillac convertible, a 1968 Plymouth Satellite, a 1966 Dodge Dart, a Plymouth Barracuda, a Plymouth Volare, a Dodge Charger, a Sunbeam Tiger, and a Plymouth Road Runner.

Vettes Went To the Hill

Just about everyone is familiar with the history of the Chevrolet Corvette. The two seater sports car was America's answer to the influx of European sportsters following World War II. My personal favorite Corvette story involved someone more commonly associated with another Chevy, the Camaro. Don Yanko was a race car driver, car dealer and car tuner. He notably raced in a C2 Corvette and I was lucky enough, several years ago, to get to take that very Vette around for a couple of laps. Ass kickin' car. Well that Vette wasn't on hand for the Headin' For the Hill car show in North College Hill but there were a number of others that were. Here are some of them.

Pontiac Went To the Hill

In the past I've written a lot about Pontiac, the line started by General Motors to be a "companion" to the inexpensive Oakland Motors line. The first car I've seen pictures of in our driveway after we moved to suburbia to live the American Dream when I was two was a pre-war Chevy Styleline. The first new car the family owned was a 1960 or 61 Pontiac Tempest. From that moment until there was a big promotion we were a Pontiac family. Several of them were station wagons to carry us around on vacations and trips to see grand parents and other relatives. Those were the cars we had, what I grew up with and what I now have fond memories of. Yes, it was something of a sad day when GM shut it down in 2010 but that means it's always nice to see Pontiacs at various car events. The Headin' For the Hill in North College Hill show had a bunch of Pontiacs on hand including a Trans Am, a Solstice, another Trans Am, a pair of GTOs, and a Firebird.
