Bel Air On the Hill

Though the name was introduced in 1950 to distinguish it from other Chevrolet models, it was 1953 when the Bel Air got its own body style. Named after an affluent neighborhood in Los Angeles, the Bel Air was a full size premium automobile. It was in 1955 that the second generation was introduced. This ran through the 1957 model year and to many fans these cars are affectionately referred to as Tri-5s. They were huge sellers for Chevy and have become very popular collector cars. The Bel Air was in continuous production through the 1975 model year with Canadian production continuing through 1981 where they wore a Pontiac badge. The Headin' For the Hill show in North College Hill had a bunch of Bel Airs on hand. Here they are.
